You know that big, scary dream you have in your heart?
Yes, that one.
It keeps nipping at the corners of your imagination, nudging you to entertain the possibilities so everything can fall into place.
Sometimes it gathers speed and whips itself into a cyclone of ideas and desire, but then you shout it down with all the logical, practical, grown-up reasons for why it will never happen, or you’re not qualified to do it, or you’ll wait until you’re better, thinner, richer, smarter, freer, older, blah blah blah.
That’s just resistance
It definitely doesn’t want you pursuing anything remotely related to you fulfilling your potential.
Resistance is not your friend; it’s a bully.
It doesn’t just want your lunch, it wants your future too. You know that’s true because you hear it whispering things all the time that make you play small.
Just like fear, resistance wants to keep you in your place. It wants to control you. It doesn’t want you to win.
We need you out here
We need you grappling with the resistance and chasing down your dream. We need you to know that any dream that is rolling around in your head and in your heart isn’t there by accident.
If it’s there, it’s possible.
You are here for a reason, and it’s not to tolerate the mundane, suffer through your day, or watch more television.
So what is your dream?
Tell me that idea you’re afraid to voice because the resistance will come crashing down around it.
Yes, I know if you put it in writing it somehow becomes “real” and you’ll feel like you have to do something with it.
You don’t – just experience how it feels.
Lean into that strange feeling for just a few minutes and sit with it. Overcoming resistance is the first step in all great success stories and that alone puts you ahead of everyone just lying on the sofa doing nothing.
So share your dream with me in the comments section – tell me what you think “will never happen”…but could.
Try it out on me – let me breathe possibility into it, and we’ll watch it sprout together.
Seriously. I’m not kidding. Right this very minute, tell me what living the life you really want would look like 🙂
